Hot in the oven…..

I left old school forging behind when I got tired of messing with something called clinker, the mass of un-burnable crap (oxide from the steel usually) mixed in with the coal. My studio has a gas fired forge that just heats stuff up real quick. See my forge in the background, bent pieces in the foreground. My studio is pretty small and I combine woodworking and metal working all in one space. If you know about forging, you’ll notice my anvil is out of place. I move it to where it belongs when I need it.

You have a great space! Are the pieces on the floor in the foreground what you are working on at the moment? Can’t wait to see what you come up with! I would love to see pics of you forging.

Sorry one last thing, these pics should be on the front page, they are really interesting and will get people to come back to see your progress.

Update the image on the front page! I want to see your progress!

Have you had any Blacksmith apprentices? I know of at least one who wants to learn that skill in the future.

I think you should make a metal octopus lamp sometime, seriously, decorated with fine silks from Bee. Or, an octupus piece of furniture. I guess I just like octopuses. But they have artistic merit!

P.S. That is a great picture of Karl. He says it’s not a mullet; it just looks like one.

    She’s right, Harvey didn’t have a mullet.

So has the iron stork arrived with your two new babies?

You know I had that conversation recently about a picture I posted of myself. Looks like a mullet to me and I can put whatever I want on this site. So Karl can manufacture silly pics of me and put them on his site. hahahahahahah

As for storks and babies, hopefully this week. Were supposed to be loaded on the truck yesterday……………..
